The Walking Blog

The Way Home
Urszula Kumala

It doesn't matter which way you go, as long as you get something out of the way you went that will be remembered. Well at least that's how it was for me when I took this path that I've never been on before.

On September 8th I took a different way home. Out of my comfort zone, I decided to take a path I normally see when I walk home, but was never sure where this path would lead me, so I would just keep on walking past. Finally I had found a reason to cross this path. Little did I know this path was an actual shortcut to my home! This path even had a bridge built on it so you can cross a little swamp. To my discovery I was able to be one with nature. Hearing the birds chirping I felt relaxed. Opening up all my senses to my surrounding. Not thinking that I could possibly walk into a stranger on the path, but instead of walking into a stranger I walked into Mother Nature. On her path I met this incredible handsome little frog, without much hesitation I had taken out my camera and took this photo of an incredibly charming frog. Seemed so photogenic when I took its picture.

As crazy as it might sound I felt a strange connection. I took this as my impact that I made in mother nature. After this encounter I had felt that the only strangers that i started talking to were animals; a squirrel, a bird, and a frog.

As I continue down this path I felt more alert to my surroundings, felt a connection with mother nature. Just as I was about to take a step further I gasped in fear and amazement. Right before me was an eager snake that showed me Natures survival, the not so nice side of Mother nature's creatures. An incredible thing to witness.

After seeing the Snake eat this large frog I had came to the end of my walk.

I had seen enough. Until Next time.
